Great white sharks
As Chatham’s gray seal population came back, so did the animals that hunt them. Great white sharks now patrol the waters off Chatham every summer and fall, and the town has become one of the best places in the world to study them.
The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy works with state scientists to tag and track the sharks, and its Shark Center in Chatham teaches visitors how to share the water safely.
