Ridgevale Beach
Ridgevale Beach sits on Nantucket Sound in South Chatham, between Hardings Beach and Cockle Cove, about two miles from downtown. The water on this side of town is calmer and warmer than on the Atlantic side.
A footbridge crosses a shallow tidal creek from the parking lot, and at low tide the creek leaves warm pools that small kids love. Herons, egrets and sandpipers work the marsh, and the snack bar has been a family business for more than 60 years.
